About Your Instructor

Daphne Boston

Welcome! I am excited to guide you through the EVHS 205 course. I am passionate about adult education and literacy. My teaching interests include workplace safety and health and environmental protection. I have a master's degree in Education Technology, and I am a Certified Safety Professional and an ISO Lead Auditor of Environmental Health and Safety management systems.

My teaching philosophy is coined EI² — Educate and Inspire with Emotional Intelligence. I believe that learning takes place not just from education but also from inspiration. I also believe that inspiration plays an important role in comprehension, retention, and application of the subject matter being learned. I further believe that to be effective in educating and inspiring students, teachers must tap into their own emotional intelligence to have a positive impact on their students, while they are educating and seeking to inspire them.
