As was discussed in Week 1, OSHA Regulations, their related Consensus Standards and the Hazards they were designed to address are covered during the first two weeks of this course. During Week 1, we covered “workplace safety” and for Week 2, we are covering “workplace health.” Specifically, we will be discussing the hazards and the incidents [accidents] they can cause which mostly result in “illnesses” to the inner parts of the body. Workplace health hazards can also cause injuries, however. During Week 2, we will continue discussions about the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) consensus standards. Also during Week 2, we will continue covering hazard identification, evaluation, control and prevention.
